Three things moved in the ten programs we track this month, and one widely quoted number is now simply wrong. Here is the September 2026 state of play.
Function Health is no longer $499
The figure that anchored this category for two years has come down. Function Health now lists $365 a year for 160+ lab tests twice annually with clinician review. A large share of the review articles still circulating quote $499, which was accurate until late 2025 and is not accurate now. If you budgeted against the old number, you have roughly $134 a year back.
Superpower is running seasonal pricing again
Standard rate is $349 a year for 150+ biomarkers across two draws. A promotional rate below that appears periodically and expires without much notice. The trap is not the promo itself but the renewal: the second year bills at list unless you check. Note the renewal figure on the day you join, not the day it renews.
The cheap end is cheaper than it looks — and also more expensive
Two entries sit under $200 a year and neither is quite what the headline suggests. InsideTracker’s $149/yr buys the platform: you upload results you already have. Adding a full 54-biomarker panel takes it to about $489. Levels lists $15 a month, but that is the app; sensors run about $89 a shipment, which roughly triples the real annual cost for anyone using it as intended.
This is the single most common budgeting error in the category. The app-first products price the software at impulse level and the hardware separately, and the comparison tables that rank on listed price alone put them at the top of the list where they do not belong.
The premium tier keeps stretching
Fountain Life’s BASE tier at $595/yr remains the most accessible way into imaging-inclusive programs, but the step up to its higher tiers is roughly a factor of eighteen. Biograph’s Core year is $7,500 plus a deposit to reserve. Human Longevity’s entry is now a $599 one-time genome test — a real price cut at the entry point, though it is a mail-in test rather than the full assessment those brands are known for.
What we would watch next month
Two things. First, whether Function Health’s cut pulls Superpower’s standard rate down with it — the two are now within $16 a year of each other and competing on biomarker count. Second, whether the wearable brands keep unbundling lab tiers, which quietly moves them from a $199 purchase into the same bracket as the testing memberships.
